The Schwarzbach is an orographically left tributary of the Werra in western Thuringia , 11 km long over the Schildbach , in the district of Schmalkalden-Meiningen . It rises west of Eckardts in the Salzunger Werrabergland , at the western interface to the Vorderrhön . In its eastward course along Kreisstraße 2523, it passes the place named after it Schwarzbach , until it finally flows into the Werra between Wasungen and Schwallungen .

Spring streams

The name Schwarzbach is in use from the confluence of Schildbach and Zillbach . The headwaters are divided from north to south as follows:

  • Schildbach (3.5 km)
  • Humbach (3.8 km, to the Rensbach; coming from the north of Hümpfershausen)
  • Rensbach (4.8 km; coming from Hümpfershausen )
  • Wurmling (4.4 km, to the Rensbach; coming from Friedelshausen )
