The Schwarzenbach is a south-eastern and left tributary of the Schischem . It flows in the Baden-Württemberg districts of Rottweil and Zollernalb . The river is 14.3 km long.

course

The Schwarzenbach rises in the Gewann Gumpen von Schörzingen . After crossing under the federal highway 27, it flows in a very natural course through the largely wooded nature reserve Schwarzenbach , where in parts it forms the border with the Rottweil district, and then passes the village of Zimmer under the castle . It crosses the border to the Rottweil district and flows past Gößlingen and Mariahochheim . On the last kilometer of its course, it forms the boundary between Böhringen and Irslingen and finally flows into the Schischem opposite the Böhringen sewage treatment plant.

Catchment area

The catchment area is approximately 29.5 km². The highest point at just over 827.3  m above sea level. NHN is located on the Wochenberg in the district of Schörzingen.

The valley section between B27 and Zimmer under the castle is protected as the Schwarzenbach nature reserve .

The Schwarzenbach flows for about 2 km through the landscape conservation area of ​​the landscape around Gößlingen .

The source, the Schwarzenbach NSG as well as a short section on the district under the castle are in the FFH area Prim-Albvorland , the confluence in the FFH area Neckar valley between Rottweil and Sulz . The FFH species bullhead and stone crab have been detected in Schwarzenbach . There are also indications of the presence of the river mussel . There are also some stocks of the FFH habitat type “alluvial forests with alder, ash, willow”. The stream itself is partially protected as a habitat type "flowing water with flooding aquatic vegetation".
