action

Scooby-Doo and Shaggy win after they have completed the hardest level of the latest video game of WrestleMania , a stay in the "WWE City" to see the competitions live. At the urging of the duo, Fred, Daphne and Velma organize the flight there. Upon arrival, the mystery machine fell into a ditch because a raccoon had gotten onto the runway. Also on the plane are the famous wrestler John Cena , his trainer Cookie and Cookies nephew Ruben. With Cena's strength, the Mystery Machine manages to get back onto the runway. The group meets Bayard, a hunter who despises the wrestling organization for the fact that his city and the forest were almost destroyed for these purposes. Cena hands Shaggy and his friends VIP tickets for the next event to help balance the dispute with Bayard.

After Shaggy arrives in "WWE City", Mr. McMahon presents him and his friends with the WWE Championship Belt, which has become free since Kane was defeated in the last fight. This price is available for selection at WrestleMania over the weekend. A tour of the WWE training camp will then be offered before the group arrives at their accommodation. During the night Scooby has a dream. He wrestles with huge monsters and when Shaggy wakes him up, they actually run into a ghost bear and both have to run for their lives. The WWE wrestlers intervene during the chase, but Triple H and Tyrus are overwhelmed by the monster, who then disappears after a throw from Sin Cara . The next morning, the group is informed by WWE Executive Director Richards that the city has been attacked by bears in recent weeks. Mr. McMahon asks Shaggy and his friends to solve the "Ghost Bear" mystery in order to keep the WWE Belt safe. Cena and Sin Cara explain to the group that the legend of the "Ghost Bear" began over 100 years ago with a wrestling bear named "Vicious" who was owned by Sin Cara's great-great-great-grandfather Sin Cara Grande on the WWE grounds City was defeated. Sin Cara fears that the bear's spirit has been reawakened by WrestleMania.

The next morning, Shaggy and his friends are informed by Ms. Richards that the WWE Belt has been stolen. Scooby is arrested after surveillance shows that he did indeed steal the belt. However, Velma proves Scooby's innocence by proving that her animal friend was in deep hypnosis when he stole the belt. Ruben concludes that the WWE video game produces flashes of light that have post-hypnotic effects on Scooby's brain. Mr. McMahon offers Scooby and Shaggy a chance to freedom if they defeat Kane at WrestleMania. The duo received crash course training from Cookie and AJ Lee . That night the group and Cena walk through the forest until they reach the bear cave. Inside, they discover a room with books on hypnosis , schemes of an EMP device and a calendar showing that the perpetrator wants to target WrestleMania. Suddenly the ghost bear appears and chases the intruders through a drainage ditch. They escape after Cena pushes the ghost bear away before discovering that the drainage ditch is right under "WWE City". After the group provided Ms. Richards with information about their encounter with the Ghost Bear, Cookie advises that WrestleMania should be canceled, much to Ms. Richards' disapproval. Fred suggests that the gang should use WrestleMania to catch the "Ghost Bear".

The group discovers that the WWE Belt itself is the EMP device and is supposed to turn on in 30 seconds. When Cena tries to get rid of him, he deactivates the underground power generator and all lights go out. Now the ghost bear appears and is wreaking havoc everywhere. The wrestlers unleash green pyrotechnics to illuminate the arena while Scooby uses his dance moves to incapacitate Kane. When the ghost bear arrives at the ring, he is confronted by Ruben in wrestling clothes. Both are shot into the ring from a floor catapult, where at the end the "Ghost Bear" is locked in a steel cage and Cena, Sin Cara, Kane, Ruben and Scooby detonate a bomb in it.

The ghost bear turns out to be the coach Cookie, who had to end his WWE career too early due to an injury and never made it to win the title. Annoyed by the WWE's disrespectful behavior, he planned the perfect crime and steal the title belt. He used Scooby as a medium and also wanted to damage the organization's reputation. When Cookie is arrested by the police, Mr. McMahon offers Ruben a place on the WWE list and gives Scooby and Shaggy the WWE Belt as a reward for their work.

criticism

The commonsensemedia.org found the film to be well done and snappy animated. It's fun to hear the wrestling superstars with their own voices. Apart from that, however, the only thing that would draw attention to this film is pure curiosity. And with this in mind, with all the bizarre changes in reality that WWE itself has made, the film doesn't disappoint.
