Matthew Lyn Lillard (born January 24, 1970 in Lansing , Michigan ) is an American actor and director.

life and career

After high school, Lillard was hired for a small role in Ghoulies 3: Ghoulies Go to College , which sparked his interest in acting. He trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena and then at the Circle in the Square Theater School in New York City . Lillard had his breakthrough in 1994 in Serial Mom - Why doesn't mom stop killing? . A year later he starred in the film Hackers - On the FBI's network alongside Jonny Lee Miller and Angelina Jolie . In the television film House of Silent Screams ( 1996 ) he played a supporting role alongside Cher and Anne Heche . Also in 1996 he was in Scream! to be seen in a leading role. Numerous film and television appearances followed, and his work includes more than 100 film and television productions.

Lillard has been married to Heather Helm since 2000 and has three children.
