Michael Shawn Waltman (born July 13, 1972 in Minneapolis , Minnesota ) is an American wrestler . He is best known by his ring name X-Pac .

Waltman was primarily under contract with the World Wrestling Entertainment , World Championship Wrestling and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling associations .

He also worked for a time for the Irish- based promotion American Wrestling Rampage and is used in individual cases at Total Nonstop Action Wrestling . He is currently running Independent.

Wrestling career

Beginnings

Waltman made his debut in independent leagues in 1992 and quickly enjoyed success there. He was light-heavyweight title holder of the leagues Pro Wrestling America and Global Wrestling Federation , at Pro Wrestling America also twice tag team title holder with his partner Jerry Lynn .

World Wrestling Federation (1993–1996)

In 1993 the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) signed him. Waltman was introduced to the WWF shows as a jobber who kept losing. He was sold as an underdog who surprisingly became a star by beating established WWF heel Razor Ramon twice. Waltman now got the gimmick of the 1-2-3 Kid and now also competed as a tag team wrestler. He was awarded the WWF Tag Team Belt twice for a short time.

World Championship Wrestling (1996-1998)

In 1996 Waltman moved to World Championship Wrestling (WCW) with his friends Scott Hall and Kevin Nash , where he appeared in the Stable New World Order . Waltman, now competing under the ring name Syxx , contested several title matches in the WCW, but was only able to take over the WCW Cruiserweight title once from Dean Malenko . In October 1997, Waltman was fired by WCW President Eric Bischoff while he was healing a neck injury .

Return to WWF / E (1998-2002)

In March 1998 Waltman reappeared with the ring name X-Pac at the WWF. There he became a member of the Stables D-Generation X , which played an important role in the battle between the competing promotions WWF and WCW for audience ratings and market leadership in the wrestling business. Waltman's return to WWF was sold as a turning point in a development in which several stars had left the WWF for the supposedly financially stronger WCW. In addition to the D-Generation X storyline, X-Pac had a long argument about the WWF European Championship belt with the wrestler D'Lo Brown, in which the title sometimes changed weekly until Waltman was allowed to hold it for five months at a time . During the breakup of the D-Generation X, Waltman wrote a storyline in which he feuded with former members of the Stables, but this storyline had to be dropped after Waltman was sidelined for months with a neck injury due to a failed power bomb by Chris Jericho .

Upon his return, Waltman received no significant storyline. During this time he won the WWF Light Heavyweight and WCW Cruiserweight titles and was the first wrestler to hold these titles at the same time, which was only made possible by the competition's purchase of WCW. In 2002, Waltman was fired from the WWE after refusing to lose to Booker T , who was built up from the promotion to main eventer ; He also collapsed at an airport for "unknown reasons".

Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (2002-2006)

Waltman switched to Total Nonstop Action Wrestling , where he was only active from September to November 2002. Waltman received the TNA X-Division Championship for two weeks in the promotion in October , but left TNA shortly after the promotion had signed the booker Vince Russo, against whom Waltman had disliked since his time with the WWE. After a brief engagement with the wrestling promotion Xtreme Pro Wrestling , which ceased operations in April 2003, and Russo's departure, Waltman returned to TNA in February 2005. He was there under contract until January 2006 and appeared regularly in the pay-per-views of the promotion, but received no titles with the exception of a memory tournament for Chris Candido .

Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (2007-2008)

In June 2007 Waltman began an engagement with the Mexican Asistencia Asesoría y Administración as X-Pac .

Then Waltman worked for the wrestling show Wrestling Society X , which was produced for the music channel MTV. The show was discontinued after ten broadcasts due to poor audience ratings.

Waltman was also under contract with the Irish- based promotion American Wrestling Rampage and took part in their European tour in November 2009 . He was seen as an active wrestler in some German cities.

Return to TNA Wrestling (2010)

Through his participation in Hulk Hogan's Australian tour in December of the same year, Waltman also came to Total Nonstop Action Wrestling in 2010 , as this assured Hogan that all participants on his Australian tour would have the opportunity to perform at the TNA.
