The Seapacer class is a four-unit class of RoPax ships . The ships were built at the Spanish shipyard Astilleros Españoles in Puerto Real and put into service between 1999 and 2001.
details
The first two ships in the series were ordered by Stena Line from the shipyard in October 1995 and built from 1997 to 1999. They were sold to Finnlines before completion . The third ship in the series was ordered in October 1997 and built from 1999 to 2000, the fourth ship followed in 2001.
The drive of the vessels is carried out by four eight-cylinder - diesel engines of the manufacturer Sulzer (8ZAL40S) each with 5,760 kW power . The motors act on two variable pitch propellers via gears . In the bow are two cross-beam control systems . Three diesel generators with a total output of 3,840 kW are available for the power supply .
Three decks are available for rolling loads . These are accessible via a bow or a stern ramp . The bow ramp is 18.5 meters long and 6.5 meters wide. The passage to the loading deck is 6.5 meters wide and 5.2 meters high. There is a bow visor in front of the bow ramp . The stern ramp is a total of 14 meters long. It is 19.5 meters wide on the ship and tapers to 15 meters. The passage to the loading deck is 20 meters wide and 5.2 meters high. The individual loading decks are connected to one another via ramps. The lower cargo deck has five lanes, the other two seven lanes each. The middle cargo deck is divided into three by longitudinal bulkheads. The capacity of the type ship is 2,500 gauge meters . The capacities of the follow-up buildings differ somewhat from this.
The passenger facilities are located in three decks above the cargo decks, which extend from the bow to approximately amidships.
The hull of the ships is reinforced with ice. The ships are classified with ice class 1A. They have stabilizers and are equipped with an anti-heeling system to maintain stability during cargo handling.
The Finneagle was renamed Euroferry Corfu in October 2017 and used by the Grimaldi Group in the Mediterranean under the Italian flag.
The Finnclipper is to be used by Balearia from May 2018 .
