history

Stena Britannica (2000-2003)

The ship was built as Stena Britannica under the hull number 80 at the shipyard Astilleros Españoles Puerto Real in Cadiz. The keel was laid on March 3rd, the launch on December 21st, 1999. The ship was delivered on August 25, 2000. The ship sailed under the British flag with home port London . The baptism took place on October 2, 2000. It was put into service on October 3, 2000 on the Hook of Holland - Harwich route , and its home port was Harwich. On February 25, 2003, the ship was withdrawn from the route and replaced by the Stena Britannica II on the same day .

Finnfellow (since 2003)

On March 3rd, 2003 the ship was renamed Finnfellow and registered for Finnlines. From then on she sailed under the Swedish flag with her home port in Stockholm . From April 2nd of that year the ship sailed between Travemünde and Helsinki . From June 1, 2004 it was used between Kapellskär and Naantali . On June 2, 2004, the ship was transferred to Nordö-Link . From December 25, 2004, the ship was rebuilt in Landskrona and from February 1, 2005 it was used between Kapellskar and Naantali.

On November 14, 2007 the ship was sold to Finnlines ABP, the ship remained in the Finnish register. The ship has been sailing under the Finnish flag since December 17, 2012, home port is Helsinki.

Incidents

On October 11, 2000, the ship collided with a ramp in Hoek van Holland, and the ship was able to resume operations on October 12.

The rudder failed on February 5, 2005 and was repaired in Kapellskar by February 10, 2005. On August 29, 2009, a fire broke out on board the ship south of the Åland Islands . On March 4, 2010, the ship collided with the Viking Line ferry Amorella .

On June 13, 2013, a fire broke out on board.

The ship belongs to the Seapacer class . Sister ships are the Rosalind Franklin , the Vizzavona and the Stena Germanica .
