Secarias is a place and a municipality in Portugal .
history
A local dolmen proves the prehistoric settlement of the municipality. The first settlement is estimated to have been around 5,000 years ago, as evidenced by finds, including arrowheads, axes and jewelery chains.
With the Castro da Lomba do Canho there was a fortified settlement of the Castro culture , which was established after the conquest of the area in the 2nd century BC. Chr. By Romans inhabited and turned into a military camp. The Portuguese historian and archaeologist Dr. Castro Nunes found the complex in 1956, which has been a listed building since 1959.
Queen D. Teresa gave Secarias to the Bishop of Coimbra , which has since been administered as a separate parish from Arganil.

Secarias is the seat of a municipality of the same name ( Freguesia ) in the district ( concelho ) of Arganil in the Coimbra district . 430 inhabitants live in it on an area of 7 km² (as of June 30, 2011).
