Grauno is a fraction of the municipality ( comune ) Altavalle and until 2016 was an independent municipality in Trentino in the autonomous region of Trentino-South Tyrol .
geography
Grauno is about 22 kilometers northeast of Trent at an altitude of 976 mslm on the orographic right side of the valley of the Avisio carrying Cembratales . The municipality was part of the valley community Comunità della Valle di Cembra and bordered directly to South Tyrol . Neighboring communities were Capriana , Grumes , Sover and the South Tyrolean community Salurn .

On January 1, 2016, the municipalities of Grauno, Valda , Grumes and Faver merged to form the new municipality of Altavalle.
