Faver (German outdated: Fafer ) is a fraction of the municipality ( comune ) Altavalle and until 2015 was an independent municipality in Trentino in the Trentino-South Tyrol region .

geography

Faver is located about 15 kilometers northeast of Trento on the orographic right side of the Cembra Valley through which the Avisio flows . The municipality was part of the valley community Comunità della Valle di Cembra and bordered directly to South Tyrol . The neighboring communities were Cembra , Salurn (South Tyrol), Segonzano , Valda. The municipality also included fractions Ponciach, Portegnago and Rore.

history

On January 1, 2016, the municipality of Faver merged with the municipalities of Valda , Grumes and Grauno to form the new municipality of Altavalle.

The Strada Statale 612 della Val di Cembra leads through the former municipality from Lavis to Castello-Molina di Fiemme .
