Cembra (German outdated: Zimmer or Zimber ) is a fraction and municipality seat of the Italian municipality ( comune ) Cembra Lisignago in the province of Trento in the Trentino-South Tyrol region .

The place is about 13.5 kilometers northeast of Trento on the orographic right side in the Cembra Valley at an altitude of 666 mslm
history
Cembra was an independent municipality until 2015 and merged with Lisignago on January 1, 2016 to form the new municipality of Cembra Lisignago. The municipality belonged to the valley municipality Comunità della Valle di Cembra , whose administrative seat is still in Cembra, and bordered directly on the province of South Tyrol . The Avisio formed the southeastern municipal boundary . On December 31, 2015, it had 1826 inhabitants in an area of 16.95 km². Neighboring communities were Albiano , Faver , Giovo , Lisignago, Lona-Lases , Salurn ( BZ ) and Segonzano .
