Seiji Takahashi ( Japanese 高橋 聖 二 , Takahashi Seiji ; born February 24, 1993 in Tomakomai , Hokkaidō ) is a Japanese ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Ōji Eagles from the Asia League Ice Hockey since 2011 .

Career

Seiji Takahashi began his career as a hockey player in his hometown of Tomakomai , where he played on the team at Tomakomai Technical High School . In 2011 he moved to the Ōji Eagles in the Asia League Ice Hockey , where he has been playing ever since. With the team, which also comes from Tomakomai, he won the Asia League in 2012 by winning the final against the Nikkō Ice Bucks . In 2013, 2014 and 2018 he was able to win the main round with the Eagles, but the play-off finals were lost to the Tōhoku Free Blades (2013), the Nippon Paper Cranes (2014) and Anyang Halla (2018).

International

For Japan, Takahashi already took part in the 2010 U-18 World Championships in Division I. Ueno made his debut in the men's national team at the 2012 World Cup , where his team competed in Group A of Division I. He was also on the ice for his country in Division I at the 2013 , 2014 , 2015 and 2016 World Championships . He also represented his colors in the Olympic qualification for the Winter Games in Pyeongchang 2018 . At the Winter Asian Games 2017 he finished third with the Japanese behind Kazakhstan and South Korea .
