The Javořice transmitter is a broadcasting facility for VHF radio and digital television on Mount Javořice in the Vysočina region in the Czech Republic .
Due to its proximity to the border with Lower Austria of around 30 km, the VHF programs of the station can be received in good quality in many parts of the northern Waldviertel . The television programs in many areas can also be received with an external antenna.
history
The first transmission mast on Javořice went into operation in 1961 with a height of 55 m. At that time it was broadcast on channel 11, the signal was supplied by the transmitter Kleť .
The 166 m high, guyed lattice mast in its present form was erected in 1989 after a new transmitter building had been built a year earlier. In June 2009, new UHF antennas were installed at the top of the mast using a helicopter .
On June 29th, 2009 the broadcast of DVB-T began .
