The Kleť transmitter is a transmission system for VHF radio , digital television and radio relay on the Kleť mountain in southern Bohemia .
Due to its proximity to the border with Upper Austria of around 30 to 40 km, the transmitter's VHF programs can be received in good quality without any problems in large parts of the Mühlviertel , as well as in the northwestern Waldviertel and the eastern Bavarian Forest . The digital television and radio programs can also be received with an external antenna in many areas.
history
The first transmission mast on Kleť was built between 1957 and 1959 at a height of 116 meters in order to achieve better television reception in South Bohemia . The transmitter officially went into operation on May 1, 1959.
On January 1, 1961, FM radio on the frequency 70.07 MHz was broadcast from Kleť for the first time.
From 1974 to 1977 the existing guyed tubular steel mast was erected to replace the old one.
On October 1, 2008, the broadcast of DVB-T began .
From July 25, 2011 to September 21, 2011, DVB-T2 was broadcast on channel 25 with 100 kW as part of a trial run .
On November 1, 2019, DAB + of the Czech Radio ČRo began to be broadcast on channel 12C with 20 kW.

The transmission system from Hitrádio, factor 104.3 MHz, is located at the observation tower 250 meters southeast of the main mast. Originally there was still the frequency 96.1 at this location, but due to massive interference with the Untersberg transmitter in Berchtesgadener Land, the frequency had to be shifted to the much lower location in Kluky .
Digital radio ( DAB + )
Currently 15 programs are broadcast nationally on channel 12C with 20 kW vertically with other stations.
