Until 2009 the station had a GRP cylinder

On the Sennigshöhe, near the village of Mirsdorf , a district of the municipality of Meeder , Deutsche Telekom has been operating a transmitter for VHF radio, mobile radio and directional radio since 1965 . A 101 meter high, guyed steel truss mast is used as the antenna carrier .

Before the political change , the station supplied parts of southern Thuringia with western television .

Until the switch to DVB-T on November 25, 2008, analog television was broadcast on channels 22 ( ZDF ) and 41 ( BR ). At the end of January 2009, the GRP cylinder was dismantled from the transmitter. Until then, the total height was 123 meters.

The radio programs of Bayerischer Rundfunk are broadcast from the station in Coburg-Eckardtsberg .

The transmitter system is often confused with the former DECCA transmitter Lautertal .
