Sense Oberland
The Senseoberland is a region in the canton of Friborg in Switzerland . The Senseoberland is located in the southern part of the Sense District .
geography
The Senseoberland includes the political communities Brünisried , Giffers , Plaffeien , Plasselb , Rechthalten , St. Silvester , Tentlingen .
The Senseoberland is located in the Freiburg Pre-Alps . The landscape is hilly and the vegetation is very diverse, also thanks to the two rivers Ärgera and Sense , which cross the area. The Senseoberland is picturesque and quiet, but not far from Freiburg (Giffers – Freiburg 4 km). As a result, the Senseoberland has become a place of residence for commuters , and Tentlingen in particular has experienced a real "building boom" in recent years. The settlements in the east are counted to the agglomeration of Freiburg.
This region is a hiking paradise, especially the area around the Schwarzsee offers many opportunities to go trekking . In winter, the Schwarzsee- Kaiseregg ski area deserves a special mention. The whole Senseoberland is also interesting for snowshoeing in winter . One advantage over other regions is that in the Senseoberland the paths are not closed due to the danger of avalanches , as is the case in other places, for example.
population
The population of the Senseoberland is 10,327 ( December 31, 2018 ). This corresponds to about a quarter of the total population of the district. The population density is rather low at 92.8 inh / km², but a large part of the area is uninhabitable (forest, mountains). The number of foreigners is very small, rounded up to 3%. The dialect spoken in the Sense District is called " Senslerdeutsch " and belongs to the Highest Alemannic .
