Source and mouth of the scythe
|
The Sense (French: Singine , Freiburger Patois ) is a right tributary of the Saane and border river between the canton of Bern and the canton of Friborg in Switzerland .
course
The scythe arises in Zollhaus from two source rivers, one of which has several source rivers:
- The right source river Kalte Sense (GEWISS-Nr. 450) comes from the Gantrisch area and is with the longer inflow of the 1573 m above sea level. M. high Gantrischseeli 12.4 km long. In the upper half of its course it is also called Gantrischsense , after the mouth of the somewhat shorter brook Hengstsense (GEWISS-Nr. 1541, from the left) only Cold Sense.
- 3.5 km before the confluence with the Warm Sense it takes the Muscherensense (GEWISS no. 514) from the left, together with the Geissalpbach 7.5 km long.
- The left source river Warme Sense (GEWISS no. 522) comes from the Schwarzsee and is 5.9 km long, with Schwarzsee and its longest tributary 10.6 km.
The Sense flows through a 15 km long gorge that is used for white water rafting and swimming. The most important tributary of the scythe is the black water .
After about 35 km the Sense joins the Saane near Laupen . Since the scythe can suddenly rise sharply during violent thunderstorms, especially in summer, staying near the river in uncertain weather conditions is dangerous.
fishes
The brown trout is the type of fish that is most often found in the scythe. There are also alet , barbel , bullhead , gudgeon , hazel , rainbow trout and - especially in the lower reaches - grayling .
Renaturation
Even before the Sense Valley Railway was built, the Sense was straightened and canalized from Thörishaus . It is now to be renatured again in the 21st century . In Wünnewil-Flamatt , voting on the corresponding loans is expected on October 16, 2019 and in Neuenegg on November 24, 2019.
