Thörishaus ( Bern German Thörishuus [ tʰœɾisˈhuːs ]) is a place which belongs partly to the municipality of Köniz near Bern and partly to the municipality of Neuenegg near Bern. Due to this political division, the local association Thörishaus (OVT) safeguards the overall interests of the village of Thörishaus.

It has 1181 inhabitants in the municipality of Köniz and extends over an area of 3.5 square kilometers. Thörishaus is located southwest of the capital Bern . The village is well connected with two SBB stations in Thörishaus-Station and Thörishaus-Dorf.

Thörishaus has had a railway connection since 1860. In the same year, businesses and industrial companies settled at the Thörishaus-Hahlen train station. Due to this industrial boom, a post office was opened in the station building in July 1863 . In 1907 a telephone exchange was built, which was automated in 1938. The post office was relocated three times between 1892 and 1954 and the post office at Thörishaus Dorf train station closed in April 2014. Since then, postal services have been offered in the Landi Thörishaus (as of 2017).
