The talent rises at an altitude of around 900 m above sea level. M. in the extensive wooded area of the Bois du Jorat and flows first to the west in a valley that is deepened into the molasses of the Jorat highlands. To the north of the municipality of Cugy, the Talent makes a sharp arc and now flows north-northeast in a furrow prepared by the Ice Age Rhone glacier. At Echallens the river turns again to the west and reaches the area of the north-eastern Gros de Vaud , which it crosses with numerous small turns. Below Saint-Barthélemy , it makes another sharp bend to the north and deepens again into the molasse layers. At Chavornay , talent emerges into the Orbe plain and flows into the Orbe near the city of Orbe VD . After the confluence of the Orbe and Talent, the body of water takes on the name La Thielle (German Zihl ).
