Setun ( Russian Се́тунь ) is a 38 kilometer long right tributary of the Moskva in Russia . It rises in the vicinity of Moscow near the village of Salarjewo a little west of the outer ring of the motorway , flows through the western administrative district of the Russian capital and finally flows into the Moskva near the Sparrow Hills.
The Setun Valley and the adjacent forest area in the Moscow village of Matvejewskoje , near which Stalin's former dacha is located, is known for its scenic attractiveness and was declared a protected landscape component in 1991. Although some fish species such as roach , perch , crucian carp and pike can still be found in the river itself , Setun is of no importance for the fishing industry due to the heavy water pollution from some nearby industrial companies.
