Sexual Healing is an American drama movie from 1993 . Directed by Howard Cushnir , who also wrote the script and co-produced the film.

Rene is married to Frank and has children. She feels bored and through a phone service for dating, she gets to know the single David who has been abandoned by his girlfriend Marta. Rene and David make erotic phone calls and exchange photos by post, but they do not meet.
Reviews
Ken Tucker wrote in Entertainment Weekly after it aired that the film featured the best cast of the week in the week's biggest disappointment. The telephone conversations of the main characters would appear so “set and un-erotic” that the viewer would be embarrassed. The role of the “great” Mare Winningham is “far too small” .
Tony Scott wrote in Variety magazine on July 16, 1993 that the story was intelligently told. The direction works efficiently without becoming vulgar. Anthony Edwards acts safely in his role. The “sharp-eyed” camera work and the “intelligent” editing were also praised.
