Sharon Webb

Sharon Lynn Webb (* 29. February 1936 in Tampa , Florida ; † 29. April 2010 in Gainesville , Georgia ) was an American science fiction - writer . She turned to writing rather late after raising three children and working as a nurse for 10 years. At first she used the pseudonym Ron Webb .

Her best-known works are those of the Immortal trilogy, in which she describes the conflict between immortality and creativity. In this trilogy, humanity has developed a medical treatment that confers immortality. However, all creativity is lost, which leads to cultural and technical standstill. However, individuals maintain their creativity by foregoing the appropriate treatment:
