Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes , also known as Sherlock Holmes for short, is the title of a 2010 low-budget film producedby the film studio The Asylum . As a mockbuster, it is based on the 2009 film of the same namewith Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law in the leading roles. The basis for both was the character of Sherlock Holmes by the British author Arthur Conan Doyle . Filming, directed by Rachel Lee Goldenberg, took place in Wales .

The film was only marketed on DVD and Blu-ray and is about Sherlock Holmes and his companion Dr. Watson , who work together to investigate monster attacks on London in order to track down Spring Heeled Jack and prevent his plan to destroy London and murder the Queen .

action

During World War II , Dr. John Watson , struggling with a serious illness, tells his attending nurse the story of an adventure he and Sherlock Holmes shared. Actually, both had sworn never to report on the incidents:

In 1882 they began to investigate the destruction of a ship off the coast of Newhaven by a giant octopus . While they were working on the case, Holmes learned from Inspector Lestrade that he had recently heard of Holmes' brother, Thorpe. As a result, they met a small Tyrannosaurus Rex in Whitechapel , who had already killed a man and was also chasing the two protagonists. In addition, the dinosaur stole a water pump and a large amount of copper wire, from which Holmes concluded that the two creatures must be connected, since the octopus stole gold from the ship. After further deliberation, they both went to an old castle in Helmsmouth that the Holmes brothers had visited when they were children. There they meet a masked man in the form of the Spring Heeled Jack .

The man behind the mask turns out to be Sherlock Holmes brother Thorpe. From all the raw materials that the monsters had stolen, he built armor that enables him to survive even though a bullet is stuck in his spine. Thorpe planned to destroy London and take revenge on Inspector Lestrade, believing he had put the bullet in his back. Sherlock Holmes was gunned down during the attack on Thorpe by his assistant Miss Ivory, who was also a human-like machine. Holmes survived because the tobacco can in his pocket stopped the bullet. As a result, Watson pursued Miss Ivory, who tried to reach Buckingham Palace with a bomb in her to kill Queen Victoria while Holmes followed his brother. Thorpe steered a self-made, fire-breathing kite, while Holmes seized a hot air balloon, also developed by Thorpe.

Watson managed to deactivate Miss Ivory before she could blow herself up. In the battle between the brothers, the Palace of Westminster and Westminster Abbey go up in flames before the dragon falls. Thorpe managed to crawl out of the wreckage and shoot Watson, but his brother killed him a short time later. Watson and Holmes vowed never to talk about what happened because the world was not ready for it.

Back in the present, Watson dies and his nurse visits his grave. She sees Miss Ivory visiting Thorpe's grave, whereupon the nurse loses any doubts about the truth of the story.
