Shin Byung-kook (born December 19, 1978 in Gangwon , South Korea ) is a South Korean biathlete .

Shin Byung-kook competed in 1995 at the Holmenkollen in Oslo with a sprint, his first race in the Biathlon World Cup and finished 109th. It was not until two years later that he was used internationally in Forni Avoltri at the Junior World Championships and was 48th of the individual. At the beginning of the 1997/98 season , the last international competition in a World Cup sprint followed in Lillehammer for another two years. Only since the beginning of the 1999/2000 season in Hochfilzen did the South Korean start regularly in the World Cup. In 2002 he achieved his best World Cup result with a 60th place in an individual in Osrblie . For career highlight which were 2002 Olympic Winter Games of Lake City Salt . In the competitions that were held in Soldier Hollow , Shin was used in both the individual and the sprint and finished 75th and 80th. After the season he ended his international career. Only in 2009 did he make a comeback at the start of the IBU Cup in Idre with results beyond 100th place.
