action

Ernest “Stick” Stickley is released from prison and visits his old cellmate Rainy in Miami , Florida to earn some money. So he introduces him to Chucky, who is involved in the drug trade. Rainy and Stick then pick up the hit man Moke to transport money to the drug lord Nestor. But the handover is a trap, because Moke shoots Rainy from behind and Stick is chased by Nestor's men. Stick can kill his pursuers and successfully escape, but he leaves behind a photo of his daughter Katie.

Nestor later meets with Chucky, who he is still angry with. After all, he failed to identify an undercover FBI agent last month , causing a $ 200,000 deal to fail and Nestor losing a husband. Since he is also still a believer, Nestor asked Chucky not only the money, but also a life. The bill was settled when Rainy passed away, but with Stick killing two more men, Chucky owes him another two lives.

Meanwhile, Stick is on his way to get revenge on Chucky. He learns that Chucky has been trying to be honest for some time and now often stays with the celebrity comedian Barry Bran. Stick manages to get Barry enthusiastic about him, so he offers him a job as his chauffeur. Stick gets to know the beautiful Kyle, who keeps a distance from him. When Chucky finds out about Stick's presence, he is furious. But he can control himself so as not to endanger his business. But that doesn't stop Stick from chasing Chucky away at a party that Bran hosted.

Stick then asks Nestor's permission to take the money Chucky owes him from the job he was supposed to do with Rainy. He himself has no problems with Nestor and accordingly does not cause any trouble. Nestor agrees and gives him permission if he leaves the police outside. But at the same time, Nestor hires Moke to kill both Stick and Chucky. He pursues this assignment and surprises Stick how he is about to demand his money from Chucky. A fight ensues between the three, in which Chucky and Moke die. Then Stick sets off to Nestor, who has meanwhile taken Katie hostage. A fight ensues, and Stick manages to kill all of Nestor's men with an automatic weapon. He saves Katie and soon after drives Kyle towards the sunset.

criticism

“Crime film blended with sentimentality and the naive message of possible social advancement; exciting only in a few scenes, amusing because of his swipes at forms of American eccentricity. "
