Siegfried Fröhlich (prehistoric)

Siegfried Fröhlich (born July 1, 1937 in Schmiedefeld am Rennsteig ; † 2018 ) was a German prehistorian .

Life

After receiving his doctorate on December 3, 1965 with the dissertation of anthropological research on skeletons of the Merovingian period from Thuringia to become a Dr. rer. nat. in Jena and his habilitation in Hamburg in 1981 he became a private lecturer and in 2001 professor (§ 17 HmbHG) for prehistory and early history. From 1992 to 2000 he was a state archaeologist for Saxony-Anhalt .
