Siegfried Sack (artist)

Siegfried Sack (born March 25, 1938 in Hindenburg in Upper Silesia ) is a German art teacher , teacher , sculptor and painter .

Life

After finishing school in Dresden, he graduated in the years 1952 to 1954 a three-year apprenticeship as a fitter . He then worked in the trades lathe operator , blacksmith and welder . From 1958 to 1960 he worked as a machine fitter and lathe operator. During this time, the first participation in an exhibition on artistic folk creation in Schwarzenberg in the Ore Mountains took place . From 1960 to 1965 he studied at the Pedagogical University in Dresden , specializing in art education and German . He participated in the painting study group . At that time his teachers were Jutta Damme , Herbert Schmidt-Walter, Ernst Fechter, Gerhard Kettner and Klaus Weidensdorfer. From 1965 to 1977 he worked as an art teacher at the 2nd Dresden Polytechnic and later at the 19th Polytechnic. He worked from 1968 to 1989 as the head of the artistic circle in the House of Teachers in Dresden. From 1969 to 1977 he was head of a remedial class at the Dresden University of Fine Arts for autodidactic discussions of figurative-plastic design Ideas from Manfred Bayer. He then worked as a university teacher at the Dresden University of Education in the subjects of fine arts and design theory in plastic . From 1992 until his retirement in 2003 he was a teacher at the TU Dresden for graphics and sculpture. He lives in Dresden .

One of his last significant works can be found in the Weberbau of the TU Dresden (at Weberplatz 5). The scientist Maria Reiche is honored with a three-part relief . Based on her studies, she researched the lines and floor drawings of Nasca in Peru .
