Siegmund of Bibra
Philipp Anton von Bibra (since his profession on November 13, 1768 Siegmund von Bibra , also Sigmund von Bibra , born November 4, 1750 in Bamberg , † March 5, 1803 in Fulda ) was a German senior civil servant , priest , writer and editor of one Scholarly Journal in the Late Enlightenment . He comes from the noble family von Bibra and was both a Catholic and an enlightener .
Life
Bibra was from 1758 to 1761 pupil of the Bamberg Aufseesianum , 1761-1763 pupil of the Jesuit high school in Fulda and studied from 1763 to 1770 Catholic theology and canon law at the University of Fulda . He belonged to the Benedictines under the religious name "Sigmund". After attending the Knights' Academy in Kremsmünster from 1770–1772 , he was ordained a subdeacon in Fulda in 1772, where his relative Heinrich von Bibra was bishop, and on December 18, 1773, was ordained a priest. In 1767 he became a novice in the Fulda Abbey , made his profession there in 1768, became cantor in 1776 and capitular in 1778 .
Bibra was a member of the Illuminati Order , where his order name was "Clemens Alexander".
