Silke Olthoff

Silke Olthoff is a German film editor who edits documentaries , feature films and television reports.

life and work

After studying humanities in Bochum and London , Silke Olthoff turned to work in the editing room and initially cut short films and television productions.

Among other things, she edited two short films by director Marvin Kren . For her work on "Schautag" she was awarded the German Camera Prize in the category short film editing in 2009. She also did the editing for Kren's feature film debut Rammbock . This was presented in 2010 at the Max Ophüls Preis film festival in Saarbrücken , where it received the audience award for the “best medium-length film”. The film was then shown on the Diagonale in Graz , where it received two honorable mentions. Battering ram was the opening film at the Achtung Berlin Film Festival 2010 and was awarded as the best feature film there. It was also screened at the Five Lakes Film Festival and the 63rd Festival del film Locarno .

She was also involved in the editing of the film 45 minutes to Ramallah by the German-Iranian film director Ali Samadi Ahadi , who received the Golden Beaver and the Public Beaver at the 2013 Biberach Film Festival .

She edited several documentaries for journalist and television writer Stephan Lamby .

She was responsible for editing the movie Goliath96 by director Marcus Richardt, which was shown at the 2019 Max Ophüls Preis film festival .

She edited the film Schlaf by director Michael Venus, which premiered in the Perspektive Deutsches Kino section of the Berlinale 2020 .

Silke Olthoff lives in Hamburg .
