Silvano Montevecchi (born March 31, 1938 in Villa San Giorgio, district of Brisighella parish ; † September 27, 2013 in Imola ) was Bishop of Ascoli Piceno .

Life

Silvano Montevecchi was ordained a priest on June 13, 1962 . From 1983 to 1995 Montevecchi was Vicar General of the Faenza-Modigliana diocese and Regens of the diocese's seminary . Pope John Paul II awarded him the honorary title of Chaplain of His Holiness on February 20, 1982 and the title of Apostolic Protonotary on August 27, 1988 . From 1995 he was pastor of the Cathedral of Faenza and from May 19, 1996 to June 29, 1997 at the same time diocesan administrator of the diocese of Faenza-Modigliana.

On August 30, 1997, John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Ascoli Piceno . He was ordained bishop by the Prefect of the Congregation for the Eastern Churches , Cardinal Achille Silvestrini ; Co- consecrators were the Prefect of the Congregation for Catholic Education , Pio Cardinal Laghi , and the Bishop of Faenza-Modigliana, Benvenuto Italo Castellani .
