Simon Barg (born March 16, 1983 in Ajax , Ontario , Canada ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been playing for the Löwen Frankfurt since January 2011 .

Career

At the age of 18, Simon Barg moved to the Barrie Colts in the Ontario Hockey League , one of the top three junior leagues in Canada. During the 2002/03 season he then joined the Aurora Tigers, for whom he played in the Ontario Junior Hockey League . After his junior years , Barg went to the University of Toronto in 2003 , where he went on the ice for the Varsity Blues in the Canadian University League in the following four seasons.

In 2007 he came to Germany for the first time and played for the EC Peiting in the league for two years . In the 2008/09 season he was top scorer in the Oberliga Süd with 146 points in 67 games and reached the play-off final with Peiting. After a season at WSV Sterzing Broncos in the Italian Serie A2 , he returned to Germany for the 2010/11 season . He signed a trial contract with the Moskitos Essen until December 26, 2010. For private reasons, Barg switched to the Löwen Frankfurt on January 1, 2011 , with whom he became regional league champions in 2011 and rose to the top division.
