Simone Oberer
Simone Schneider-Oberer (born April 8, 1980 in Bottmingen ) is a former Swiss athlete . Her specialty was the heptathlon .
Life
Oberer is a multiple Swiss champion and, in addition to the heptathlon, was also one of the national leaders in the long jump and 100 meter hurdles . In 2005 she won the silver medal in the heptathlon at the Universiade . She started for the LC Zurich , her trainer was the current Swiss record holder in the heptathlon Corinne Schneider di Tizio . In 2006, Oberer was voted Swiss Athlete of the Year . In November 2010, she announced her retirement from top-class sport.
Oberer grew up in Itingen in the canton of Basel-Landschaft and now lives in Basel . After studying Chinese medicine, she became a freelance therapist in 2009.
