history

Frédéric Leclercq of DragonForce has been working on Death Metal-like song material since 1998 . Over time, had also Stéphane Buriez of Loudblast involved with his plans. When Leclercq received a text message from Joey Jordison (ex- Slipknot ) asking what kind of musical project Leclercq was currently working on, he told him about the death metal songs and sent Jordison a few demos . Convinced by the recordings, Jordison offered himself to Leclercq and Buriez as drummers. It was Jordison who gave the band the name by combining the English words "sin" ("sin") and "insane" ("crazy"). Attila Csihar ( Mayhem , Sunn O))) ) and Sean Zatorsky ( Dååth , Chimaira ) were chosen as singers . The line-up was completed by the bassist Heimoth C. Krueger ( Seth ). The establishment was officially announced in May 2016. The band then went into the Fascination Street Studios in Sweden Örebro and took there, led by Jens Bogren the album Echoes of the Tortured to that at the July 29, 2016 earMUSIC appeared. A self-titled EP containing two songs was released on June 6th . The recordings for the album had taken place separately, it wasn't until the rehearsals for the music videos Army of Chaos and Splendor and Agony that all members played together for the first time.

style

Jan Jaedike from Rock Hard assigned the music not only to death but also to black metal . In an interview with him, Frédéric Leclercq stated that the album title refers to a book of the same name, but the content of the album is broader. The song beginning of the nightmare got its title from Leclercq, who lived and worked in Krefeld and had German at school. The text is partly in English and partly in Hungarian . In the same issue, Sebastian Schilling reviewed the album and described the music as modernly produced, sometimes Thrashy Death Metal, reminiscent of the more recent Deicide , Dååth or Act of Defiance (minus the clear vocals). A dark atmosphere is created by pithy riffs and csihar. The band also make use of catchy song structures, like in Army of Chaos .
