The FC Sioni Bolnissi ( Georgian სიონი ბოლნისი ) is a football club in Bolnissi , Georgia . He plays in the Temur Stepania Stadium , which has 3,400 seats. The club name comes from the ancient church Bolnissi Sioni .
history
After the club was able to complete the regular 2003/04 season level on points with WIT Georgia Tbilisi as the first, a playoff game had to decide the championship. Sioni Bolnissi lost 2-0 and the championship went to WIT Georgia Tiflis. The game was also overshadowed by serious riots, including a fan being stabbed with a knife. As a result, Sioni was not allowed to play 10 games in their own stadium, and the team was also not allowed to participate in the UEFA Cup . In the 2002/03 season they were cup finalists and lost in the final against Dinamo Tbilisi . In the 2005/06 season they won the championship by 5 points and thus achieved the greatest success in the club's history.
