Sivrihisar ( Spalya , Roman: Justianapolis ) is an Anatolian city in the Eskişehir province on the main road from Ankara to Eskişehir , from which a branch branches off at Sivrihisar to Afyonkarahisar and on to Izmir . Since a regional reform in 2014 and the appointment of Eskişehir to Büyükşehir Belediyesi , the city of Sivrihisar is identical in area and population to the district of the same name .

At the foot of the mountain that towers over the city is an Armenian Church of the Holy Trinity ( Kızıl Kilise ), which is currently (2012) being restored and can only be viewed from the outside. In the city there are also houses of traditional architectural style in varying degrees of preservation. Other sights include an ulu camii from the 13th century and the Alemşah mausoleum.

The archaeological city of Pessinus can be reached in approx. 14 km from the Sivrihisar exit .

The nearby former village of Hortu is said to have been the birthplace of the wise fool Nasreddin Hoca .
