Tepebaşı

Tepebaşı is a city in the district of the same name in the Turkish province of Eskişehir and at the same time a district of the Büyükşehir belediyesi Eskişehir (metropolitan municipality / metropolitan province ) created in 1993 . In 2008 the urban area of Eskişehir was divided between the two newly founded Ilçe Odunpazarı and Tepebaşı. The city of Eskişehir as a whole no longer existed and was no longer included in the statistics (of the TÜIK ).

The district is located in the west of the province and includes the northern part of the provincial capital. It borders in the northwest on the province of Bilecik , in the north on Mihalgazi and Sarıcakaya , in the east on Alpu , in the south on Odunpazarı and in the west on the province of Kütahya and İnönü . Two roads run through the district, the E 90 , which comes from Çanakkale via Bursa and continues via Ankara and Adana to the Iraqi border, and the D-230 , which connects Eskişehir to the west with the trunk road D-650 . In the north are the Eskişehir Ovası plain and parts of the Sündiken Dağları Mountains . The river Porsuk Çayı , which flows through the capital, forms roughly the southern border to Odunpazarı and is dammed in the southwest to Lake Porsuk Barajı , part of which is in the Tepebaşı district. Northwest of Eskişehir are two smaller lakes, the Keskin Göleti and the Borabey Gölü , which is used by the Anadolu Üniversitesi for water sports activities.

The Anatolian Railway runs through Tepebaşı from Istanbul - Haydarpaşa to Ankara . In the north and northwest of the capital are the civil airport Eskişehir-Anadolu ( Turkish Eskişehir Anadolu Havaalanı ) and the military airport Eskişehir (Eskişehir Havaalanı) . The “ Zübeyde Hanım Culture Center” used to be the Armenian Holy Trinity Church from the 1650s.
