Mihalgazi is a city and the smallest district in the Turkish province of Eskişehir . The city is located about 30 kilometers north of the provincial capital Eskişehir .

The district is in the north of the province. It borders Sarıcakaya to the east, Tepebaşı to the south and Bilecik Province to the northwest . A road runs through the town and the district, connecting Söğüt in the province of Bilecik in the west with Nallıhan in Ankara in the east. The Sakarya River flows through the city from east to west . Mountains rise on both sides, in the north part of the Köroğlu Dağları , in the south the Sündiken Dağları with the Bozaniç Tepesi .

Mihalgazi (called Gümele until 1928) came from Söğüt County ( Bilecik Province ) and moved to Eskişehir Province in 1944, later to the newly formed Sarıkaya County (later called Sarıcakaya) in 1958. By law No. 3644 (enacted on May 20, 1990), the former Bucak Mihalgazi was split off from Sarıcakaya County as an independent county on August 14, 1991. In 1967 Mihalgazi received the status of a municipality ( Belediye ).
