Günyüzü is a city in the district of the same name in the Turkish province of Eskişehir and at the same time a district of the Büyükşehir belediyesi Eskişehir (metropolitan municipality / metropolitan province ) created in 1993 . The city is located about 120 kilometers southeast of the center of Eskişehir .

The district is in the east of the province. It borders on Sivrihisar to the west, Mihalıççık to the northwest, Ankara Province to the east and Konya Province to the south . A connecting road runs through the district and the city from the E 90 at Sivrihisar to Yunak in Konya. In the west of the district is the eastern slope of the Sivrihisar Dağları Mountains with the 1819 meter high Eryiğit Dağı . The southern border with Konya Province roughly follows the Sakarya River .

Günyüzü received (according to the city logo) the status of a Belediye (municipality) in 1972 . Until the formation of the district of the same name in 1990, Günüzü was its own Bucak in the Sivrihisar district.
