Yunak is a city and a district in the Turkish province of Konya . Since a regional reform in 2014 , the municipality ( Belediye ) is congruent with the district (İlçe). All previous villages ( köy ) are now districts ( Mahalle ) of the municipality. The city is located about 120 kilometers northwest of the provincial capital Konya .

The district is located in the northwest of the province. It borders in the north on Çeltik and the province of Ankara , in the east on Cihanbeyli , in the southeast on Kadınhanı , in the south on Ilgın , in the southwest on Tuzlukçu and in the west on the Afyonkarahisar province . The D-695 trunk road runs through the city and the district and connects Polatlı in the north with Manavgat on the Mediterranean coast . A country road leads north to Çeltik, another west to European route 96 near Emirdağ . Mountains in the district are the Kızıl Tepe (1122 meters) and the Çaldağı Tepesi (1207 meters) in the northeast, the Bayatkolu Tepesi (1766 meters) in the west and the Sarıhöyük Tepesi (1660 meters) in the south. In the north, near the border with Çeltik, the Gökpınar Deresi rises , forms various small lakes, including the Akgöl , and flows further north, where it flows into the Sakarya .
