Bozkır

Bozkır is a city and a district in the Turkish province of Konya . Since a regional reform in 2014, the municipality ( Belediye ) is congruent with the district (İlçe). All previous villages ( köy ) are now districts ( Mahalle ) of the municipality. The city is located about 80 kilometers south of the provincial capital Konya .

The district is located in the south of the province. It borders in the northwest on Ahırlı , in the north on Akören , in the northeast on Çumra , in the east on Güneysınır , in the south on Hadim and in the southwest on the province of Antalya . The D-340 road from Beyşehir to Mut runs through the district from northwest to southeast . In Bozkır the D-350 branches off to the east, which leads to the D-715 from Konya to Silifke . In the south are the foothills of the Geyik Dağı mountain range with the 2249 meter high Haydar Dağı and the 2138 meter high Demirli Dağı . To the east of the main town are the mountains Asardağı Tepesi with 1803 meters and Karaçalı Tepesi with 1761 meters. In the southeast, the Göksu river touches the district, which flows into the Mediterranean near Silifke . The northern border follows the Beyşehir Kanalı , a connection between the Suğla Gölü lakes in the west and Apa Barajı in the east, which flows through the Mavi Boğazı gorge .
