Kulu is a city and a district of the Konya Province in the Central Anatolia Region of Turkey . According to the 2012 census, the population of the district is 50,525, of which 21,250 live in the city of Kulu. Kulu is about 110 km from the capital Ankara and 150 km from Konya.

The D-715 trunk road runs through Kulu, which comes from Konya in the south and meets the European route E-90 about ten kilometers north of the city . The northern part of the Tuz Gölü salt lake is located in the district of Kulu, and the Düden Gölü (also called Kulu Gölü), home to flamingos , is about four kilometers east of the district town .

Fredrik Reinfeldt , Swedish Prime Minister, visited Kulu on April 21, 2009 on his trip to Turkey. In memory of the late Swedish politician Sven Olof Joachim Palme , the city park was named after him.
