Güneysınır is a city and a district in the Turkish province of Konya . Since a regional reform in 2014 , the municipality ( Belediye ) is congruent with the district (İlçe). All previous villages ( köy ) are now districts ( Mahalle ) of the municipality. The city is located about 70 kilometers south of the provincial capital Konya . The place arose from the amalgamation of the villages of Güneybağ and Karasınır. In 1990 Güneysınır County became.

The district is located in the south of the province. It borders on Hadim to the south, Bozkır to the west, Çumra to the north and Karaman province to the east . The city is located on the D-350 road that connects Bozkır in the west with the D-715 highway from Konya to Silifke in the east. In the east of the district lies the 1413 meter high Kocakosan Tepesi , in the west the Tekkeörenler Tepesi with 1623 meters and in the southeast the Sarıtaş Tepesi with 1435 meters. The river Finaboğazı Deresi has its source in the west , it flows to the north, is dammed up at Aydoğmuş to Aydoğmuş Sulama Göleti and soon flows into Çarşamba Çayı . In the south, the district boundary follows the river Göksu , which forms the Yerköprü Şelalesi waterfalls there .
