Houses in Odunpazarı

Odunpazarı is a city in the district of the same name in the Turkish province of Eskişehir and at the same time a district of the Büyükşehir belediyesi Eskişehir (metropolitan municipality / metropolitan province ) created in 1993 . In 2008 the urban area of Eskişehir was divided into the two newly founded Ilçe Tepebaşı and Odunpazarı. The city of Eskişehir as a whole no longer existed and was no longer included in the statistics (of the TÜIK ).

The district is located in the west of the province and encloses the southern part of the provincial capital. It borders Tepebaşı in the north, Alpu in the east, Mahmudiye and Seyitgazi in the south and the province of Kütahya in the west . From Eskişehir two roads run southwest through the Ilçe, the E 90 , which comes from Çanakkale via Bursa and continues via Ankara and Adana to the Iraqi border, and the D-665 to Afyonkarahisar . Coming from the south, the Ilıca Deresi river flows through the district and flows into the Porsuk Çayı west of the capital . This roughly follows the northern border to Ilçe Tepebaşı and is dammed in the northwest to the Porsuk Barajı reservoir, a small part of which is located in the Odunpazarı district.

The Eskişehir- Konya line of the Anatolian Railway runs from the provincial capital to the south .

The historic old town of Odunpazarı has been on the UNESCO tentative list since 1912 and is applying for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage .
