history

The church in Skórka

The first mention of the village comes from the 14th century. From 1772 to 1918 the village was under Prussian administration. In 1871 Schönfeld (today Skórka) was connected to the rail network with the construction of the Prussian Eastern Railway (today the Tczew – Küstrin – Kietz border ). In 1924 the bridge over the Głomia was built.

In 1939 Schönfeld had 643 inhabitants, who were spread over 169 households, and there were 90 farms on the parish grounds, ten of which were over 100 hectares in size.

Schönfeld was an independent rural community in the Flatow district until 1945 and belonged to the Steinau district. With the Flatow district, the municipality of Schönfeld belonged to the Province of West Prussia until the Versailles Treaty came into force in 1920 after the First World War , then to the Province of Grenzmark Posen-West Prussia and since its dissolution as part of the administrative reform of October 1, 1938, to the Province of Pomerania .

Towards the end of World War II , the region was occupied by the Red Army in late January / early February 1945 . After the war the place became part of Poland as Skórka .
