history
The Peterspfennigregister of the Krakow diocese from 1325 to 1327 mentioned Rector ecclesie de Crzidlna , Item Nicolaus, plebanus ecclesie de Cridlna seu Antiguo Rudel , and Nova Rudel (today Wola Skrzydlańska). According to some sources, the village was owned by the knightly Radolt family as early as 1296. Both names were of topographical origin - derived from (s) krzydło (wing) or ruda or the Ruda stream (a rust-brown (rudy) stream). In the early 15th century, the Ratold family (Ratułt, Ratold, Ratuł) built a castle there. In 1424 the city had a municipal law but under the following owners, the family Pieniążek was Skrzydlna just a village.
Politically and administratively, the private village belonged to the Kingdom of Poland (from 1569 in the aristocratic republic of Poland-Lithuania ), Krakow Voivodeship , Sącz District.
After the First Partition of Poland, Skrzydlna became part of the new Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria of the Habsburg Empire (from 1804). After the city fire of Tymbark , the local district office was moved to Skrzydlna. After that it belonged to the Limanowa district .
In 1918, after the end of the First World War and the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, Skrzydlna came to Poland. This was interrupted by the occupation of Poland by the Wehrmacht in World War II , during which it was part of the Krakow district in the Generalgouvernement .
From 1975 to 1998 Skrzydlna was part of the Nowy Sącz Voivodeship .
