Slam poet

A slam poet (also: poetry slammer , slammer , stage poet ) is an author or intellectual creator of a literary work of slam poetry , which is presented by this person in a poetry slam . In 2017, around 40 to 50 artists lived full-time on the income from their performances, workshops , moderations, stage programs, publications and commissioned work in German-speaking countries, although these do not usually relate exclusively to the poetry slam event . Active German-speaking slam poets complete up to 200 appearances a year, including many appearances abroad through invitations from the Goethe Institute .

The best-known slam poets include the winners of the individual competition of the German-speaking championships such as Jan Philipp Zymny , Bas Böttcher , Sebastian Krämer , Lasse Samström , Philipp Scharrenberg , Sebastian23 , Gabriel Vetter , Volker Strübing or Marc-Uwe Kling . More slammers and Slammer occurred in recent years with humorous ( Julius Fischer , Lars Ruppel , Sandra Da Vina , Torsten Sträter ), lyric-performative ( Nora Gomringer , Lydia Therefore , Pauline Füg, Xóchil A. Schütz , Fabian Navarro ), RAP oriented ( Fiva , Gauner , Jan Möbus) or narrative ( Sulaiman Masomi , Misha Verollet ) text forms emerge.
