Lasse Samström , actually Albrecht Lahme (born January 23, 1969 in Gerolstein ) is a German poetry slam writer.

Albrecht Lahme attended the Regino-Gymnasium in Prüm from 1979 to 1985 , then until 1987 the Vinzenz-Pallotti-Kolleg, a private school in Rheinbach , and then until 1990 the Rheinbach municipal high school . The stage name Lasse Samström he gave himself claims to be the end of the 1980s, when he was a punk singer occurred and Fun Punk - band "running amok chip shops" belonged. After the American spoken word movement took up in Germany in the 1990s and the genre of slam poetry became known to the public, Samström first took part in a competition as a slampoet in 1997. Since then, he has regularly participated in poetry slams throughout the German-speaking region and has also made several appearances at foreign slam events.

In 2002 he qualified in both the individual and team discipline for the sixth German-language poetry slam championship , which took place in the Swiss federal city of Bern and in which 17 teams and 64  slammers from over 30 cities took part. At this 6th German International Poetry Slam (GIPS) Samström won in the "Individual" discipline and with his "Wuppertal" team in the "Team" discipline. In the same year he won the Croatian Slam championship. In 2004 he took part in the World Championships and came fourth at Poetry International 2004 , which took place in Rotterdam , the Netherlands .

Samström is now one of the most famous poets in the German-speaking poetry slam scene. He has had hundreds of appearances in individual and team competitions, in which he has won numerous awards. In the period from 1999 to the beginning of 2006 alone, he won over 50 poetry slams at home and abroad and himself claims to perform at least hundreds of times a year. He also appears as a moderator in various formats, for example since 2012 at the "Rheinhexenslam" in Rheinbach or at Kunst gegen Bares in Düsseldorf .

He is considered to be the inventor of “ shaking prose and brute charm”, his credo is: “ Poems should be heard and not read. And the poet belongs on the stage. "
