criticism

Life is not a Waldorf school

While Lydia Herms (MDR Sputnik), for example, judges that the book is “absolutely recommendable! (…) Mischa-Sarim Vérollet is a master, yes, a master of an unsuspected, thoroughly funny writing style. ”, Jugendbuchtipps.de awards 4.5 out of 5 stars, criticizes Münchner Merkur:“ Verollet's book shows how the texts without purring its performance together into unimportant little swings. ”and Literaturkritik.tv complained:“ The book, although laid out differently, splashes. (…) Poetry slammers who publish what they have read in printed form always take a certain risk. Not every text spoken in front of you dissolves just as nicely when read softly. "

Why I am afraid of women

The follow-up novel to the short story volume Life is not a Waldorf School was consistently welcomed by the critics. The Tagesspiegel, for example, found that it was difficult not to find the novel pretty great: "Most of the time it's funny, sometimes it's incredibly funny." DASDING said: “Seemingly banal things like an unwanted erection in math class bring Mischa to the disaster level of a reactor accident. (...) A great book. ". And the Gießener Anzeiger also praised the "crystal-clear word images, peppered with black humor, with which the author and poetry slammer aims directly at the laughing muscles."

Goodbye, Jehovah! How I left the most famous sect in the world

The Hamburger Abendblatt called Misha Verollet's publication "a remarkable book". Nina Apin writes in the taz that the book's "dual track" of "over-the-top descriptions of everyday life" and "sober explanatory passages" works surprisingly well: "The deeper you immerse yourself in the everyday world of the increasingly doubtful Anouk, the further you penetrate into the network Jehovah's Witness." The Evangelical Church in the Rhineland recommends the book as "enormously helpful if you want to understand the behavior of individual witnesses or just want to get some basic information".
