Slobodan Ocokoljić ( Cyrillic Слободан Оцокољић ; born August 15, 1980 in Kraljevo , SR Serbia ) is a Serbian basketball player . Ocokoljić's greatest success was winning the Austrian championship in 2008 with the Panthers from Fürstenfeld .

Career

Ocokoljić studied in the United States from 1999 and initially played for the Buckeyes team at Ohio State University in the NCAA . After he could not assert himself here, he moved to Weber State University in 2001 and, according to the regulations of the NCAA, had to take a year off from official championship games after the change of university. After the break, he won the Big Sky Conference championship with the Weber State Wildcats . In the first round game of the national finals of the NCAA you then lost to the Badgers of the University of Wisconsin – Madison .

After completing his studies in 2004, Ocokoljić only got his first professional contract with the German first division club TBB Trier in the basketball league in February 2005 . In the basketball Bundesliga 2005/06 they narrowly missed entry into the play-offs for the German championship because of the poorer direct comparison . After Ocokoljić had hardly seen any working time before, he did not get a new contract and moved to InterCollege ETHA in Engomi in Cyprus in 2006 . However, he only stayed here until March 2007 and then moved to Zlatorog in Laško, Slovenia . After losing in the semi-finals of the Slovenian championship, he returned to Cyprus and played for APOEL in the capital Nicosia . But even here he didn't stay until the end of the season.

In February 2008 Ocokoljić moved to the " Austrian Basketball Bundesliga ", where he won the championship with the Fürstenfeld Panthers. In the 2008/09 season the title defense failed when the eventual champions WBC Raiffeisen Wels were defeated in the semi-final series. Ocokoljić joined the French third division club from Cognac in the following season 2009/10 after the start of the season . In the following seasons he played for other third division teams in France .
