Snydertown is a borough in Northumberland County in Pennsylvania , United States . At the time of the 2010 United States Census , Snydertown had 339 residents.

Snydertown's geographic coordinates are 40 ° 52 '  N , 76 ° 40'  W (40.873399, -76.670632). According to the United States Census Bureau , the borough has an area of ​​9.0 km 2 without any significant body of water. To the north, Snydertown is bordered by the Rush Township , to the east and south by the Shamokin Township and to the west by the Upper Augusta Township .

The Shamokin Creek flows from east to west through Snydertown. Most of Snydertown is hilly and forested with some arable land. The terrain is flatter near Shamokin Creek. Snydertown is a village that stretches from the intersection of Snydertown Road (QR 4012) and QR 4005 westwards and northwards and especially south. The rest of the borough is extremely sparsely populated. Isolated farmsteads are located along Snydertown Road as well as on Clark Road and Fox Road West in the south of the Snydertown district.

history

The first landowner in Snydertown was Godfrey Rockefeller, who sold his land to Joseph Snyder; Snydertown is named after him. Snydertown was incorporated from Shamokin Township in 1871 .
